Honored to receive the endorsements from the following:
Honored to be endorsed both by the Florida Education Association AND the Hillsborough Classroom Teacher’s Association. As a product of public school and as a parent of a child in our public schools, I understand how important it is that we fully fund our schools and pay our teachers more.
There are no words to describe how utterly humbled I am to receive the endorsement from one of the legends in political activism in the United States. Someone who has paved the way for so many behind her… and she hasn’t stopped fighting. Thank you, Heather Booth, for your tireless work on behalf of ALL Americans.
For those that don’t know of Heather’s historical activism, I recommend watching Heather Booth: Changing the World, a film by Lilly Rivlin
I am so honored to receive Commissioner Pat Kemp’s endorsement for my campaign. She has always been a tireless advocate for ALL of Tampa and she continues to be a strong voice for us on the Board of County Commissioners.
“I am excited to support Debra in her bid to serve the Tampa community as our Representative. As a mom of an elementary-aged child and a small business owner, she understands the issues that are facing her district. She will always put people over politics, and that’s why I am doing all I can to make sure we elect Debra in 2018.”
I am truly honored to receive the endorsement of the Ironworkers Local 397 Union. Their #apprenticeships are amazing and such an asset to our community. I recommend you take a look at how they are providing incredible, and real, opportunities for the people of Tampa and around the State of Florida. #Unions #EarnWhileYouLearn#RealJobs
We are fortunate to have incredible women leaders in the Tampa Bay Area, including the 55th Mayor of our great city, Sandy Freedman. As the very first female Mayor she was elected twice to the seat. She has continued to give her heart and soul to our city and I am so honored to have her endorsement.
“I am excited to support Debra in her bid to serve the people of House District 60. She is a strong and empathetic leader, who will fight to restore respect and funding to our public education system while keeping our children safe. This community deserves a State Representative who will always put people over politics, and that’s why I will do whatever it takes to make sure we elect Debra in 2018.”
May 2018 — Working Families Party Endorses Debra Bellanti for Florida House District 60
I am so honored to be endorsed by the Working Families Party! They are fighting for a brighter future for America. One where the economy works for everyone. One where politicians are accountable to working people, instead of Wall Street lobbyists and large corporations. One where all of us, no matter where we come from, can find a good job, get healthcare when we need it, afford a home, send our kids to good schools, and have a secure retirement.
April 2018 — Moms Demand Action announced that Debra Bellanti has been given the distinction as a “Gun Sense Candidate” for her race in Florida House District 60.
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for new and stronger solutions to lax gun laws and loopholes. Since its inception after the tragedy at Sandy Hook School, Moms Demand Action has established a chapter in every state of the country and, along with Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Everytown Survivor Network, is part of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with more than four million supporters.
“As a mother and a member of Moms Demand Action Tampa, I am honored to receive the distinction as a “Gun Sense Candidate” by Moms Demand Action. I know that we must continue to push for proactive legislation that reduces gun violence and prioritizes public safety over the political agenda of lawmakers and the NRA.”
Debra supports common-sense gun law reforms and believes the safety of our children and fellow citizens should not be a partisan issue.
“This year the mid-terms give Florida voters the chance to tell their representatives how they feel about the NRA stronghold in our State Legislature. I stand with the students and families in Parkland, FL, in saying #Enough and #NeverAgain.
And although the Gun Safety Bill passed in this session was steps in the right direction it left out what a majority of the citizens in our great State had asked for… to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”
Moms Demand Action provided the following statement in their distinction of Debra as a Gun Sense Candidate:
“Reducing and preventing gun violence is a public safety issue, not a political one. Over 35,000 Americans are killed every year by gun violence and thousands more are injured. Responsible gun owners know that supporting the Second Amendment goes hand in hand with common-sense solutions to reduce gun violence. Thank you again for standing up for gun violence prevention and recognizing gun safety.”
